About us

Mission Statement

The Granbury Civic Chorus is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and exists to bring high quality choral music to the people of the Lake Granbury area. We are a community based organization and are not affiliated with any particular church. Many churches in our community generously allow us use of their facilities for our rehearsals and concerts.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are Monday nights from 7 – 9 pm in the Choral practice room at  Granbury First United Methodist Church. Potential members are always welcome to “sit in” and observe a rehearsal.

Please feel free to contact us for more information

History

The Granbury Civic Chorus was founded by a small group of Granbury Citizens in 2001, led by Suzanne Cate, the first Artistic Director. It has grown from the Original 19 members to a group of 50 to 60 singers today. We welcome new voices!

Our first several concerts were presented at the Langdon Center Performance Hall. Soon the audiences became standing room only and part of the audience was listening from outside the front doors.  At that point, larger venues were found to accommodate larger audiences.

Concert Schedule

The Granbury Civic Chorus presents at least two full concerts each year. Special concerts have included the openings of the Granbury Convention Center and the Granbury Opera House, the annual city-wide Prayer Breakfast and from 2008 to the present, as well as the Granbury Candlelight Tour of Homes each December.

We usually do not have tickets or admission charges for regular GCC concerts but donations are always gratefully accepted at the door. The only other income we have is from advertisement in our concert programs and the annual dues paid by each member of the ensemble. We love our loyal supporters!
